The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Michael Pezzetta to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2021-22 season.
Pezzetta was a restricted free-agent. The contract will pay him $750,000 in the NHL and $82,500 in the AHL — a slight increase over what he would get with his entry-level contract.
The 23-year-old is a high-energy forward who has progressed every year at the AHL level with the Laval Rocket. In 107 career AHL games, he has 10 goals and nine assists but in this past season, he had two goals and three assists in 20 games.
