Montreal Canadiens sign Max Domi to a two-year contract

There is an official number for Max Domi as he begins his tenure as the newest player in the Montreal Canadiens organization. After acquiring him from the Arizona Coyotoes in exchange for Alex Galchenyuk, the Habs quickly got to work an extension. According to the team’s NHL site, that contract will see him make $3.15 million over the course of two years.

It’s interesting – and better – that the Habs did go for a ‘prove it’ type of contract instead of committing immediately. Giving up Galchenyuk in the deal may have implied a belief that Domi is meant to be a part of the ongoing plan, but it looks like Bergevin wants to be absolutely sure.
