The Montreal Canadiens announced that they signed Swedish forward Lukas Vejdemo to a two-year entry-level contract.
The 22-year-old has been playing in the SHL for the past two seasons, and due to his age, only had to sign for two years.
He was the Canadiens third-round pick in 2015. He was previously with Djurgårdens. He had 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 47 games this season. Up from four goals and four assists the year before in 48 games. In the playoffs, he has two assists in 10 games over the last two seasons but he has been trusted as a centre by the Swedish team.
