The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Jesse Ylönen to a three-year entry-level contract.
After Ylönen signed a try-out contract with the Laval Rocket for the remainder of the 2019-20 season, this news was inevitable. His Liiga contract was over after this season, and he has clearly made the commitment to play in North America.
The 2018 second-round pick did not play with the Rocket, hampered first by an injury and then by the season being suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. If the season does not resume, he will make his North American debut at training camp next season, whenever that may be.
