The Montreal Canadiens announced they have signed defenceman Cody Goloubef to a professional tryout (PTO) contract with an invite to the team’s training camp.
Goloubef is 31, and listed at 6’1” and 184 pounds. He is a right-shot defenceman, something the Canadiens and Laval Rocket had a shortage of last season. Last season, he played 31 games for the Belleville Senators in the AHL, scoring four goals and adding two assists.
He does have some NHL experience, with 160 games (three goals, 22 assists) with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, Ottawa Senators, and Detroit Red Wings.
