Montreal Canadiens sign Charlie Lindgren to three-year extension

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that they signed goaltender Charlie Lindgren to a three-year contract extension.

Lindgren was set to become a restricted free-agent at the end of this season, and could become an unrestricted free-agent the year after depending on the length of the contract. He is 24 years old and the contract is a one-way deal.

This locks him in with the Canadiens and makes him more attractive, either as the Canadiens backup, or in a trade.

Lindgren has spent most of the season with the Laval Rocket of the AHL, posting a 7-13-9 record with a 3.
