The Montreal Canadiens have signed free-agent winger Ales Hemsky to a one-year, one-way contract.

The contract is for a cap hit of $1 million.
Hemsky only played 15 games last season with the Dallas Stars, scoring three goals and four assists. He has dealt with injuries throughout the latter part of his career, and this is a low-risk, potentially higher reward deal for Marc Bergevin.
It does not bode well for the return of Alex Radulov, as the Canadiens are quickly running out of available forward spots.
