When the Montreal Canadiens first hinted at Jonathan Drouin playing centre for the team, many were interested to see what he could do with Max Pacioretty. A dynamic playmaker with an elite goal-scorer is a match made in heaven, but unfortunately, the two could never combine to be as impactful as many expected. Drouin instead found more success with the likes of Alex Galchenyuk and Artturi Lehkonen and even more with Brendan Gallagher and Paul Byron towards the end of the season.
There’s a chance Claude Julien revisits the Gallagher-Drouin-Byron trio, or maybe he gives the combo with Pacioretty another shot.
