The Montreal Canadiens lost more than the game last Friday night. Ales Hemsky took a hit in the first period that was bad enough to take him out of the game. Fans later learned that it was an upper-body injury.
We’ve yet to get an update on Hemsky’s condition, but if this is a long-term ailment, someone will have to step in for him. Luckily the Habs have been holding 13 forwards on the team this season. The obvious choice to replace him would be Torrey Mitchell.
The thing is, Mitchell isn’t a top six forward.
