Nikita Scherbak being sent down to the AHL makes a little more sense now. The Montreal Canadiens held practice this morning with the same defensive pairings but new forward lines. When the news got out about Scherbak, the assumption was that Andrew Shaw was returning to the lineup, but it looks like Phillip Danault will be the one to draw back in.
Danault was in between Alex Galchenyuk and Charles Hudon at practice. Galchenyuk started the season with him but couldn’t find any sense of a spark.
