The Montreal Canadiens have announced two roster moves before their first game of 2019 against the Vancouver Canucks tonight at the Bell Centre.
Andrew Shaw, who left the game against the Dallas Stars early with an upper-body injury was placed on Injured Reserve with what Claude Julien is calling a neck injury. Due to his concussion history, Shaw is also in concussion protocol.
Julien on the status of Andrew Shaw:
Shaw suffered a neck injury in the game against Dallas that caused headaches. While team doctors have been unable to confirm a concussion at this point, Shaw is being treated under the concussion protocol given his history.
