Montreal Canadiens: Markus Eisenschmid signs with Adler Mannheim

When looking at the list of restricted free agents the Montreal Canadiens had to qualify or extend, Markus Eisenschmid looked to be one of the players the organization would let go. He joined the system in the 2015-16 season playing 28 games for the St. Johns Ice Caps. The next year he was signed to a two-year entry-level contract becoming the first German to do so in Montreal.

However, Eisenschmid’s time with the Habs as over as he signed a two-year deal with the Adler Mannheim in Germany. The 23-year-old had set a career high in points with the Laval Rocket this season.
