In a move that looks influenced by new Laval Rocket head coach Jöel Bouchard, the Montreal Canadiens have a new goaltender in their system. Étienne Marcoux has been signed to an AHL contract for the 2018-19 season. Bouchard may not have coached him, but he is most likely familiar with his work.
The 24-year-old spent the majority of his hockey career playing in the QMJHL with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Marcoux was with the Armada from 2011-2014 where he saw a total of 95 games. He also led the league in save percentage and goals-against average during the 2012-13 season at .
