The first set of changes that came on the Montreal Canadiens were behind the bench. J.J. Daigneault and Dan Lacroix were relieved of their duties while Dominique Ducharme was brought in as a new assistant to join Claude Julien and Kirk Mueller. But there still missing someone to cover the defence on the team.
Montreal has found their guy via the team’s NHL site, announcing the hire of Luke Richardson. The 49-year-old enjoyed a long career in the NHL playing a total of 1417 games as a defenceman split between the Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Ottawa Senators.
