As far as positional depth, the Montreal Canadiens have looked fairly solid in net. Carey Price is and will be the number one guy, but there are two up-and-coming goaltenders behind him in Charlie Lindgren and Cayden Primeau who are continuously turning heads and causing jaws to drop.
Lindgren showed clear signs of starting potential this past season taking the Habs net in place of Price while he was injured (both lower-body and the concussion). The 24-year-old was signed to a three-year extension in February, and although Antti Niemi is still around, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get few NHL games this season.
