With opening-night rosters due in to the league on Monday, the Montreal Canadiens have cut down to the maximum of 23 healthy players.
The move capped off a busy day for the Canadiens. Earlier in the day they announced that Cayden Primeau and Kaiden Guhle would be sent to the AHL and WHL respectively, and they claimed Adam Brooks off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Injuries have given opportunities to a few players, like Alex Belzile, who spent nearly a decade in the minor leagues before making his NHL debut a season ago and has a chance to play in the opening game on Wednesday night.
