It’s unfortunate in some respects, but the Montreal Canadiens do have a knack for trading drafted talent. Some of the big names involved are Ryan McDonagh, Mikhail Sergachev, and as of Friday, Alex Galchenyuk. He was the team’s first selection at the 2012 NHL Draft taking him third-overall.
The Habs had six more draft choices that year. However, now that Galchenyuk is out of the picture, Charles Hudon is all that remains from that draft in 2012.
Sebastian Collberg was the team’s first of two second-round picks.
