The Montreal Canadiens announced that forward Jake Evans underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia today.

Prospect Jake Evans underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia on Wednesday. His recovery period is expected to be 12 weeks.

He is expected to be out three months, which would mean Evans would miss the team’s development camp, but players heading towards their first professional season have tended to skip that, anyways.

Evans should be ready for rookie camp, and his first professional training camp.
