Montreal Canadiens Forward Andrew Shaw had been having a great game and was fulfilling his role as a pest. In the first period he even got into a scrap with Ducks forward Corey Perry. Obviously, this is a good trade off for the Canadiens, as they had one of the NHL’s best snipers gone for a five minute penalty.
The Habs controlled the play early on, but the Ducks controlled the play for the rest of the game. The Ducks took a two goal lead heading into the third period.
The Montreal Canadiens started pressing and tried to generate offense as the game came to an end.
