This past off-season the Montreal Canadiens took a risk on Russian forward Alexander Radulov signing him to a one year contract. Marc Bergevin was scrutinized by many for making this signing and not going after one of the more marquee free agents.
The Radulov signing was often compared to the Alexander Semin contract that was signed before the 2015 season. Some also felt that Radulov couldn’t keep up with the speed of the game and others questioned his character due to past mistakes. Radulov had skipped curfew during the playoffs when he was a member of the Nashville Predators.
