The NHL had another player choose to hang up the skates earlier today. After being placed on unconditional waivers in an attempt to be bought out, Alexandre Burrows decided to retire. But his mark in the game won’t be lost forever with the latest news. The Montreal Canadiens AHL club have chosen to bring Burrows on as an assistant head coach joining Daniel Jacob and Marco Marciano behind head coach Joel Bouchard.
Burrows is leaving behind a 13-year career that started in the ECHL with the Greenville Grrrowl in 2003. He eventually worked his way up to the NHL spending 12 years with the Vancouver Canucks.
