Well, this is a shock. Not because there was no place for Charlie Lindgren with the Montreal Canadiens going forward, but it seemed like they would wait until the summer to handle their restricted and unrestricted free agents. Either way, it’s good news for both sides.
Lindgren was already a touted up and comer in the organization, but his latest stint with the Habs this season gave fans reason to believe that he is legitimate. The 24-year-old played in eight games when Carey Price went down with a lower-body injury, and he did everything you could’ve asked for in a goalie.
