The question of who would be the next Canadiens' captain was a tough one, but the players themselves answered it by electing Max Pacioretty as their new leader. Max has been an offensive leader for the club for the last few years, and now he assumes a role once held by the likes of Saku Koivu, Jean Beliveau, Maurice Richard, and many other legends of Montreal hockey.
He once returned to action mere days after an appendectomy. When he suffered a broken vertebrae, he returned the next season to put up over 30 goals.
