The Mark Streit development has come to a final point. It started with him getting a one-year deal with Montreal Canadiens over the offseason. After poor play in the preseason and the rise of Victor Mete in combination with the awaited return of David Schlemko, he was put on the trade block to make room on the 23-man roster.
Trying to swing a deal for a struggling 39-year-old is a tough sell. It didn’t last too long as the team put Streit on waivers the next day. Now he’s all clear, and even though playing with the Laval Rocket would be the “easiest” move, this journey is going to down a different path.
