The Montreal Canadiens have acquired 22-year-old winger Lucas Lessio from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Christian Thomas.
Lessio has spent the beginning of the season with the AHL's Springfield Falcons, posting seven goals, five assists, and 25 penalty minutes. He has five points in 29 career NHL games.
The 6'1", 212-pound Lessio is scouted as a quick forward who has found offensive success in the AHL the past few seasons. Brendan Porter of Coyotes' SB Nation blog Five for Howling felt Lessio had good finishing ability to go along with his size, but couldn't find a place on a scoring line with the play of Max Domi and Anthony Duclair.
