I know: It’s early. Your Montreal Canadiens are at the midpoint of their regular-season schedule. There’s still a ton of hockey to be played.

But the race for playoff positions is tighter than (insert non-sexual metaphor). And if the Canadiens are to play more than 82 games this season, they have to start racking up points.

On the Friday edition of L’Antichambre, Vincent Damphousse said the Canadiens’ upcoming games are crucial. If the team has tumbled out of a playoff spot by the end-of-January All-Star Game break, Damphousse thinks the Canadiens will have a difficult time climbing back into contention for the postseason.
