Going into this season, I had high praise for Noémie Marin ("the best forward you’ve never heard of") and while she didn’t perform the way she did last year, she was still a significant contributor to Les Canadiennes.
She had seven goals and eight assists in 22 games for Montreal last season while being a mainstay on their second line. She started the year with veteran Emmanuelle Blais and sophomore Kim Deschênes, with whom Marin had great chemistry with at the end of last season.
Rookie forward Katia Clement-Heydra moved her way up to that line early in the year, and then they made the switch that really helped the team grow.
