Les Canadiennes were without Charline Labonté and Julie Chu and had one of their worst showings in the last few seasons in a 2-1 loss to the Toronto Furies on Saturday night at the Mastercard Centre.
It was Montreal’s first loss of the season, and their first regular season loss since February 13 of last season. It was their first loss to Toronto since January 11, 2015.
Caroline Ouellette opened the scoring in the first period to give Montreal the lead on the power play when her shot tipped off a skate and past Christina Kessler. It was the 290th point of Ouellette’s CWHL career as she gets closer to being the first player in league history to reach 300 points.
