Les Canadiennes put together a much better effort in their second game in China and bounced back with a 2-0 win over the Vanke Rays Monday night in China.
Ann-Sophie Bettez and Kim Deschênes scored for Montreal and Emerance Maschmeyer made 17 saves for the shutout. It could have been much better for Montreal if not for Vanke goaltender Elaine Chuli who made 30 saves in a losing effort, many on prime scoring chances.
Montreal’s top line got the first real chances of the game. Bettez broke in alone and fired a snap shot that was stopped by Chuli and Noémie Marin had a chance at the doorstep as well.
