Les Canadiennes have made several trades today, the biggest of which was acquiring goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer from the Calgary Inferno.
Maschmeyer, who represented Canada at the last two World Championships but was not named to the centralization roster for the Olympics, played in eight games last season with Calgary. She posted a 1.49 GAA and .946 save percentage, both were top among goaltenders. She had a 5-3 record.
The trade completes the trade that sent Haley Irwin from Montreal to Calgary in 2014.
This raises the question of Montreal goaltender Charline Labonté. Labonté and Maschmeyer have spoken at length about their great relationship through National team events.
