New York Times reporter John Branch just dropped a bombshell on Twitter, saying that John Scott is being recalled from the St. John's IceCaps to the Montreal Canadiens.
Canadiens assigned forward Michael McCarron to the AHL IceCaps, and recalled John Scott from St. John's tonight.

Scott was sent down immediately by General Manager Marc Bergevin when he was acquired in a trade along with defenceman Victor Bartley for Jarred Tinordi in mid-January. Indications were that he would remain there for the rest of the season, so this recall comes as a tremendous shock, especially since Scott didn't even wear the Canadiens jersey when he took part in the NHL All-Star Game a few weeks after the trade.
