Tomas Plekanec is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and despite what many would say about him, he has been the Montreal Canadiens' number one centre since the 2007-08 season. The Canadiens have three options with Plekanec; they can re-sign him, trade him at some point, or let his contract expire and move on.
