After tons of speculation over what the Montreal Canadiens would do at the draft, they kinda did... nothing. No real movement, on draft weekend, but they did draft an interesting crop of youngsters, including first round pick Noah Juulsen and third round pick Lukas Vejdemo. Neither player was very hyped, but it seems like there's always a hidden gem with Timmins.
In free agency, the Canadiens went back to the unknowns, to sign George "Bud" Holloway, then stole Mark Barberio from Tampa Bay, an underrated left-handed defenseman. Their big move of the day though, was trading Brandon Prust for Zack Kassian and a fifth round pick.
