Some nice feel-good stories for both teams at the Bell Centre on Thursday night, and in the end, the Habs stories tasted sweeter than the other team’s.
It was the Canadiens playing the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals, a great test for a new-look Montreal squad who had just been humbled by the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, and whom fans still aren’t sure about, even though it’s been a decent start for the boys. But being unsure is understandable considering the past couple of seasons.
On this night the Canadiens broke through late in the game after blowing a two-goal lead in the second, and they dispatched the visitors in fine and dramatic fashion, winning 6-4, and doing it in ways that puts big smiles on a whole whack of Hab fans’ faces I’m sure.
