The Habs had an interesting 1st round at this year’s draft.
The NHL draft had many surprise picks in the top 10, adding drama to the Habs selection and making one exciting draft to watch and analyze as the team also made a pair of trades. It looked like the Habs may have wanted to move up but ultimately didn’t and chose to stay put at pick 9. It’s a really good thing they did.
With the 9th pick the Habs chose Russian Defenseman Mikhail Sergachev from the Windsor Spitfires. Sergachev had an amazing rookie season with the Spitfires, winning the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the leagues top Defenseman.
