The Montreal Canadiens have claimed former Calgary Flames centre Paul Byron, who was on waivers yesterday via TVA Sports.
Meanwhile, former backup goalie Dustin Tokarski and defenseman Mark Barberio cleared waivers and will be heading down to the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps.

The Habs’ claim on Byron comes 1 day after Zack Kassian was placed in Stage 2 of the NHL/NHLPA Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program, due to a car crash over the weekend that left him with a broken nose and foot.
