With NCAA teams being eliminated left and right in the Frozen Four, a number of top prospects have begun to sign with professional teams. Ryan Poehling’s future is currently up in the air following a shocking loss to AIC in the first round of the tournament. One prospect has been confirmed however, as Northeastern’s star goalie, and Montreal prospect, Cayden Primeau is set to turn pro following a loss to Cornell.
Originally a seventh-round pick in 2017, Primeau needed only two years to become one of the NCAA’s best netminders. In two seasons, he has collected a mountain of awards, including two First-Team Hockey East All-Star nods, Hockey East Goaltender of the Year, a World Juniors silver medal and a Hockey East Championship this year.
