Mike Condon was solid in the 1st, allowing Paul Byron and Tomas Fleischmann to put the Habs up 2-0 heading into the 2nd period.
The Canadiens did not get their first shot attempt until 3:42 of the 1st period, and would not record their first shot on net until 5:11. It was not as though the Jets were lighting them on fire though, having only recorded 1 shot themselves (albeit a very dangerous shot) in the first 6 minutes of the game. It's definitely Sunday night hockey.
The Canadiens second shot of the game would come on a shorthanded breakaway by Paul Byron who is becoming a shorthanded-goal specialist, scoring his 2nd shorty in 2 games to give the Habs a 1-0 lead.
