Bud Holloway was recalled less than a week ago, and found himself on the ice to start the game. Being that Hollaway is 27 years old, I was curious who the oldest ever NHL rookie was and found it to be a player named Connie Madigan, who in 1973 at the age of 38 made his debut for the St. Louis Blues.
The Canadiens looked sharp to start the game, but were not getting any shots on goal. Mike Condon had made four saves by the first commercial timeout. As the period went on, the Habs were lulled into a defensive festival with a lot of fighting along the boards and chippy skating.
