Brandon Prust took a shot on a rolling puck that fooled Carey Price, glancing off the bottom of his glove hand and rolling down his back to be left for 2014 1st round pick Jared McCann to bury into the back of the net. This is only the 2nd time all season the Habs have given up the first goal of the game, and the first time they had trailed an opponent since they played Detroit 4 games ago. The Habs had also never trailed by more than 1 goal (and for no longer than 2:57), until Lucas Sbisa blasted a low shot from the point that glanced off Nathan Bealieu's stick and past Carey Price to give the Canucks a 2-0 lead.
