Canadiens sign free agent Alexandre Alain

The Montreal Canadiens have come to terms with undrafted free agent forward Alexandre Alain on an entry level contract. Per the terms of the CBA, the agreement has to be a three-year deal. Tony Marinaro was the first to break the news.

Alain is a 6’2” overage player for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. As team captain, he has put up some significant numbers this season, 44 goals and 87 points in 65 games, while playing alongside QMJHL leading scorer Alex Barré-Boulet. Alain finished third in regular season league scoring, but is dominating the playoffs, leading the QMJHL in points (19) and goals (11).
