Canadiens Place Parenteau On Waivers, Possible Buyout

As per Darren Dreger, the Montreal Canadiens have placed Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau on waivers, and should no team claim his contract by Monday, June 29th, he will be bought out.

General manager, Marc Bergevin, had stated on Saturday that he was “happy with the team we have” and was not planning to pursue new free agents come July 1st.

Twitter, of course, exploded with irate fans with this statement, made just a day before the Parenteau move:

Wow, Bergevin is satisfied with his lineup!
