MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year, one way contract (2016-17 and 2017-18) with Montreal native defenseman Mark Barberio.
In his first season in the Habs organization in 2015-16, Barberio suited up for 30 NHL games, lighting the lamp twice while adding eight assists for a total of ten points. The 26-year- old defenseman – whose season came to a close on March 19 due to a concussion – had started the campaign in the AHL with the St. John’s IceCaps, where he had two goals and 20 points in 26 matches.
