Canadiennes Season Review: Sydney Aveson

Would it surprise you that Charline Labonté, the CWHL's goaltender of the year, didn't even have the best numbers on her own team?

Well it's true. Sydney Aveson, in her first season in the CWHL after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 CWHL Draft out of Plattsburgh State, had a better goals against average and save percentage than the Canadiennes star.

There is an important games played caveat. Aveson played in five games and compiled a 4-1 record, her only loss coming against the Brampton Thunder while Labonté was nursing an injury.
