Brendan Gallagher, the Montreal Canadiens first line right winger, blocked a shot and left tonight’s game and is yet to return. The feisty forward appeared to be hit in the hand or wrist with a slap shot from the point, and was in obvious pain before heading off the ice a few seconds later.
The 23 year old is having a career year thus far, scoring nine goals and 19 points in the Habs first 21 games. He is on pace to demolish his career highs of 24 goals and 47 points set last season.
Gallagher has been playing on the top line with Max Pacioretty and Tomas Plekanec this season.
