Ben Scrivens clears waivers, assigned to St. John's

Ben Scrivens cleared waivers at noon today, and has been assigned to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League

Scrivens was traded by the Edmonton Oilers to the Montreal Canadiens on December 28 for beleaguered forward Zack Kassian. He played 15 games for the Canadiens, presenting a 3.07 GAA and 0.906 SV%, with a record of five wins and eight losses.

With the potential return of Carey Price, and the arrival of the freshly signed Charlie Lindgren, Scrivens became expendable. He'll likely ride out the remainder of the season in the AHL before his contract expires, and he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
