The California road trip was a grind for the Montreal Canadiens. History proved itself as the team went 1-2 including another loss in San Jose where they haven’t won a game in this century.
The Habs needed a bounce-back game and got one defeating the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 to, unfortunately, drop their next two games against the New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks. Both games were massive blows to Montreal’s playoff lives as the Islanders game saw the team surrender a possible overtime point due to poor awareness in the offensive zone while lack of production and come coaching decisions led to the shutout loss at the hands of Corey Crawford.
