After a long wait the Canadiens were once again on the board in round six, and with ther 191st overall pick, the team selected 20 year old Xavier Simoneau from the QMJHL.
Simoneau spent the previous four years in the Q as a member of the Drummondville Voltigeurs, where he put together some gaudy offensive numbers in each of his seasons. In his final season in Drummondville, Simoneau scored 10 goals while adding 27 assists in just 27 games.
He will join the Charlottetown Islanders for next season as an overage player after spending the last two years as the Volts captain.
