Yoel Romero Tears Meniscus, Hopes to Make Summer UFC Return

Yoel Romero pulled out his UFC on FOX 15 bout with Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza due to a meniscus tear in his right knee, but he will forego surgery in his recovery, according to a report on Wednesday.

“UFC Tonight” revealed that Romero will instead seek physical therapy for the injury and hopes to fight again by either June or July.

Romero bowing out of the contest made for the second delay in the Souza fight. The two were originally supposed to face each other at UFC 184, but Souza suffered from pneumonia leading into the contest and had to withdraw.
