Yoel Romero out of UFC Fort Lauderdale main event

Yoel Romero has been removed from his middleweight rematch with Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza that was set to headline the April 27 card at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, sources confirmed to MMA Fighting.

AgFight was first to report the change, citing the reason for Romero’s withdrawal as pneumonia.

Romero was originally in talks to fight Paulo Costa at UFC Fort Lauderdale, but that bout fizzled when Costa was removed for undisclosed reasons. Initially, Romero said he had heard that Costa had issues with the USADA, a claim that Costa refuted.
